BGD Group Environmental Policy

BGD Group is committed to continually improving its environmental performance. We aim to achieve this by working with our clients and suppliers to monitor and regularly review all aspects of the agency. We take into account environmental policies when selecting suppliers, particularly those related to print. Wherever possible we make sure that any 3rd party suppliers that we use are ISO 14001 accredited.

As an agency, we are automatically responsible for ensuring that:

  • there is a minimal use of contaminants
  • the use of recycled paper is maximised
  • primarily paper-based products are used

However, we also advise and assist our clients and suppliers with their responsibilities. These can range from:

  • offering advice on environmental policies
  • maximise the use of lightweight, recyclable or environmentally friendly paper
  • minimise the use of laminates and look for biodegradable alternatives
  • reclaim or recycle inks, varnishes and developers
  • minimise the use of adhesives

From an internal point of view, we strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible. This includes ensuring that wherever possible:

  • all bought-in paper is 70% minimum recycled content or from well managed forests and other controlled sources www.fsc.org Cert no SA-COC-1254 FSC Forest Stewardship Council
  • we operate recycling of all paper waste
  • we operate recycling of all card and plastic waste
  • our office cleaners use green cleaning products provided by Living Clean Ltd
  • all printers and computer settings are pre-set to black print as default
  • all screens are switched off at night
  • all lights are switched off at night
  • all air conditioning and heating systems are switched off out of office hours
  • all windows and doors are double glazed
